Myanmar National Democratic Allied Army (MNDAA), Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) ,and Arakan Army (AA) have been declared terrorist organizations by the State Administration Council (SAC ).

The declaration was made with the issuance of Order 1/2024 dated 2nd September. It is stated in the order that MNDAA and TNLA have been carrying out the activities to do material damage to the public security, the people’s lives and property, important public and/or private buildings, the state-owned buildings, vehicles, machineries and utilities.

Additionally, they have been committing terrorist activities by laying down the landmines to explode the public roads and bridges, destroying electric towers, launching attacks on densely populated towns and villages with the use of heavy arms and drop bombs, slaughtering the innocent people, forcibly enlisting the people and ultimately destroying the state-owned buildings, vehicles, machineries and utilities.

For the aforementioned reasons, these two groups have been declared to be terrorist organizations.

Concerning AA, they were no longer regarded as the terrorist organization with a notification issued on 11th March in 2021 to provide them a chance to participate in building up eternal peace across the nation in concordance with SAC’s five-point roadmap and nine objectives.

Nonetheless, they are found to be committing acts of terrorism, and therefore, SAC issued Order 2/2024, which declares AA to be a terrorist organization. Notification 1/2021, dated 11th March of 2021, has been overruled by Order 2/2024. It is learnt.
