A man suspected of having Mpox was found in Kyaikhto township in Mon State according to a statement issued by the Kyaikhto Township Health Department dated 5th September.
The suspected person was found on board the bus coming from Hpa-an to Yangon. There are 33 other passengers on board the bus belonging to Shwe Myanmar Bus Line.
When the bus was stopped at Mayangyaung checkpoint in Kyaikhto township for Mpox check, a 45-year-old man was found to be suspected of Mpox. Therefore, he was sent to Kyaikhto Township Hospital for a laboratory test. But he was tested negative. Still, he has to undergo other tests for confirmation. The hospital will provide treatment for his skin disease.
