The international community has invariably been providing assistance with no string attached, and this time, the assistance provided by ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance Centre (AHA Centre) is arriving soon, said State Administration Council (SAC) Vice Chairman Vice Senior General in his capacity as the National Natural Disaster Management Committee Chairman.

Delivering a speech to the National Natural Disaster Management Committee meeting 2/2024 held on 16 September,
the Vice Senior General demanded prompt management of flood relief and rehabilitation activities.

The In-Country Liaison Team–ILCT from AHA Centre will come to Myanmar to help us issue disaster-related data and information as well as to help us seek more international assistance.

The Vice Senior General went on to say that the aid rendered to the flood victims by the well-wishing people shall be properly managed and distributed to the victims in a fair and square manner.

Currently, the government, on its part, has been delivering five safe and healthy basic food items and the safe drinking water to the temporary disaster relief camps which the donors have no easy access to.

And what is more, the head of state himself on 12 September also called on the responsible officials concerned to take prompt action to ensure arrival of international assistance f9r those who are suffering from the flooding caused by Typhoon Yagi.
