There are shootings every day in Hsipaw in Northern Shan State, and the local people are staying inside home, scarcely going out, a resident told Popular News.

Although some motor vehicles including trucks are going along Mandalay-Muse Motorroad on 25th September as usual, few people are roaming inside Muse, it is learnt.

“As people are scared by the security threat, most of them are staying home. But they do not abandon their native place. So, the town does not  look like a deserted town. People are hearing the reports of the heavy gun. Aircrafts are very often flying in the air,” a local told Popular News.

The telephone lines and internet connections have gone dead, forcing those wishing to have contact with their families and friends have to go to Thityabin band beyond Yingwe Mountain between Kyaukme Town and Naung Pein Village according to a resident.
