Myanmar Navy to become Three Dimensional Combat Ready Navy
The State Administration Council Chairman said Myanmar Navy will become
a Three Dimensional Combat Ready Navy on 5th July when he inspected the naval exercises which took place in Rakhine Coastal Area on Myanmar Territorial Waters. The joint manoeuvres involved the combat submarines known as MV Minye Thein KhaThu and MV Minye Kyaw Htin inter alia in addition to the helicopters. This naval exercise is named Sea Shield-2022.
”The naval exercises were first conducted in 2009 in the form of Air-Water Joint Manoeuvres. Each year is witnessing more and more naval vessels, resulting in better manoeuvres”, said SAC chairman.
He added that naval exercises are aimed at getting used to the battlefield as well as honing the skills regarding use of the vehicles, machineries and weapons. He also pointed out that only when those involved in the manoeuvres are capable and high-minded, will the exercises meet with success.
“Our Navy has now become Three Dimensional Combat Ready Navy. And inclusion of two different submarines in this exercise will provide fresh experiences,” said the SAC chairman.
Additionally, he recalled that Myanmar coastal line is about 1,300 miles long , and the Territorial Waters measure over 144,000 square miles.
“Currently, our navy is being upgraded into a There Dimensional Combat Ready Navy as the first stage to be able to fully protect Myanmar Territorial Waters Special Economic Zone,” said the Senior General.
“To make the navy possessed with great combat skills, the naval vessels must be kept ready, the weapons and the weapon system must be ready and the navy personnel must be alert for fighting,” said the Defence Services Commander in Chief.
