We have enough foreign currency reserve and reserved funds–Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun

The Information Committee of the State Administration Council (SAC) held its 18th press conference in Nay Pyi Taw at 1 pm today. During the press conference, Committee leader Major-General Zaw Min Tun said that Myanmar has sufficient foreign currency reserve as well as enough reserved fund.

“Our country has reasonable amount of foreign currency reserve, and we also have sufficient amount of reserved fund. As our country has enough fund, the prime minister led economic committee was held on 22nd July,” said the Major-General.

Under the decision reached at that meeting, the permanent government staff can now enjoy the house allowance if they are not provided accommodation at the state-owned housing quarters.

If the government servant is a single, he or she will be entitled to enjoy 4 per cent of his or her basic salary and if he or she is a married, he or she will be entitled to enjoy 8 per cent of the basic salary with the condition that they are not given accommodation at the staff quarters.

Additionally, the Police will be entitled to enjoy hardship and risk allowance amounting to Ks 10,000 commencing from August, said the Major-General. He added that this is the 27th time the SAC provides employee benefits since assumption of the duties of the state.

“We’ll continue to provide employee benefits and awards in the form of social safety nets from time to time to enable the employees to cope with the changing situation,” he added.
