State Administration Council Chair Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, on 24th October evening attended a ceremony to mark the 60th anniversary of cooperation between India and Myanmar in technological and economic sectors.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing explained the progress made in cooperation between Myanmar and India in economic, technological, and other sectors.
Concerning the bilateral trade, the PM emphasized that India is the seventh trade partner of Myanmar and that the total trade accounted for USD, 1,150.181 million in fiscal 2023-2024.
There are foreign investors from 53 nations and regions in Myanmar, he said. Out of them, India is ranked 11th as of January in 2024, he added.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing is optimistic of India continuing to exist as a highly valued trade partner.
When Myanmar was hit by Yagi, India came to our rescue immediately, this reflecting maintaining of good friendly relationship, he pointed out.
Our cooperation is important to cooperation among the nations in the southern hemisphere, he said inter alia.
